The beautifully renovated Pacific Heights home of William Getty and Vanessa Getty, a socialite and philanthropist, was sold in April for $27M.

The five-story, historic home was listed for $29 million in February. It was located on a corner in San Francisco’s most prestigious neighborhood. Getty home

The 2900 Vallejo St. sellers have completely renovated the 107-year old mansion. This is a significant undertaking, considering that the home measures 9,700 square feet.

Nearly every fixture, window, molding and piece of molding was replaced with a newer version that matched the original or maintained the style of the 1912 house.

In living areas, there are walnut floors. Calcutta marble is flecked in gold at the entrance. Each bathroom has marble flooring that features a unique mosaic. Radiant heat was installed throughout the building, including in the office that houses the four-car garage. This is where you can view and manage your car collection.

The kitchen has been expanded to make it a gourmet cooking space.

When the home was first listed in June as a pocket listing, Ludovico Mazola of Compass stated that "the level of quality employed there is extraordinary." "The home was well-maintained and modernized and not remodeled to make it look like a modern monster."

The property was seismically enhanced and strengthened with steel beams. Exterior stucco was also removed and replaced by new material. Vanessa Getty home

Mazzola explained that "so many of these houses come on, but they're not fully renovated and have only a handful of renovated rooms." "The idea behind the major renovation was to give these homes the attention they deserved. They are iconic of San Francisco, but they are often in disrepair.

The Presidio's eastern gate is just a block away. It is also within walking distance to the Marina Green and Fort Mason. All rooms enjoy stunning bay views because they are located on top of a hill.

Louis M. Upton was the original architect of the home. He also designed many other elegant Pacific Heights homes, including Dianne Feinstein’s current residence.

The Gettys purchased this home for $11.5M in 2002. William is the great-grandson of J. Paul Getty (a billionaire who made his fortune from the oil industry).
